Gmail Notifier is a free application which can notify you about new emails in your multiple G mail accounts. G mail Notifier can select any mail as read and also delete mails directly from the interface without having to log into the web interface.  But before experimenting with it  you need to enable it in your G mail account. This app also got a Google custom search.
