How to get your article in front of many StumbleUpon users

Yesterday, I posted why StumbleUpon traffic is one of the best high quality traffic. Today Puneet, a fellow reader of our blog asked me a question how to drive traffic from StumbleUpon and get your article in front of the eyes of thousands of StumbleUpon users.
Make the article WORTH It
Before stumbling your post think atleast one time, is your post WORTH IT? If you think it’s not then don’t stumble your post yet. Make it WORTH IT to read and understand. Be focused on what you’re trying to say.
Use Images in your Posts
I said that before and now i am again going to say that using images in your posts serve as visual cues for your visitors. Even researches have proved that people view images more and read less. Use images on top of your posts(in the beginning) because sometimes SU users don’t even bother to read.
Correct Timing is REQUIRED
Correct timing is the one thing that should be taken into consideration. Always remember, that most of the users of SU are from US and Canada. So if possible stumble your articles when people living in US and Canada are awake.
You need friends
You need atleast 50-100 mutual StumbleUpon friends, send them your URLs to stumble and in the meanwhile Stumble their urls too. You would need some initial stumbles from your friends that can help you get your story in front of thousands of eyes. Also stumble blog posts of other bloggers and send message to those people who stumbled your posts, thanking them. This way you both can become good friends.
Try to go for a StumbleUpon campaign
If you are one lazy bone who doesn’t like to work much and have got some money in your pocket, go to StumbleUpon and create a campaign. I have created a campaign once and got 3000 visitors from the campaign i create, not to mention the extra traffic I got(10000 visitors) with many stumbles from other SU users. My article was featured in StumbleUpon. It’s only $0.05 per visitor, which is fair enough. But, if you are not a person with money in hand then you should go with the free method. I was featured a couple of times with both the free and the campaign method.
Traffic boosts when you are Featured
StumbleUpon sends really high amount of traffic once you are featured. The traffic can be handled even by shared servers, it sends 40-100 visits per minute if you get featured. 
Not to mention that you’ll also get a lot of link love from many forums and blogs and more subscribers. If you are lucky you can get upto 30k unique visitors within a day! But that requires many many stumbles. The traffic stays for a long time! It’s like never ending traffic.

I’m not that successful with Stumble traffic. Even though I had the content, those who actually had posts based from my site actually did better with StumbleUpon. :p
I never did like the idea of peer-to-peer promotion of a stumble, but apparently it is the most successful way to get some traffic from StumbleUpon.
Oh yes, I am agree that correct timing play another crucial role to get traffic from stumbleupon. Never tried sending the urls to my SU friends for stumble, maybe I should try that. Thanks for the tips!

Yea stumbleupon traffic is one of the best. Once I got around 18k unique in one day with the help of stumbleupon only.

ive been utilizing stumbleupon for my blog somewhat, seeding pages to it per article, but have i have recently come across a block on stumbleupon. i can no longer submit pages from my blog. when i try to add the page, i take the time to fill out the info in the pop-up then submit only to have the pop-up spin, redirecting to nothing. this to me is very frustrating and a big waste of my time. it pretty much says to me, we dont want to redirect you to anything that will clarify the situation for you quickly, we are just going to leave you spinning until you research and figure it out on your own. that comes back to customer service in my opinion. come on stumbleupon, redirect me to another window with direct clarification on what i have done wrong.
so i proceed to the help section of stumbleupon. ne help there. i googled, and found this… - “They [stumbleupon] don’t want you to submit *any* material of your own, though in the past it doesn’t seem to have been a big deal. So is Stumbler getting stricter?”
huh? why? i dont get it? i can submit my own site? why? seriously? if stumbleupon is marketed as a great tool for bloggers, and bloggers use it, and stumble their own personal sites, isnt this the whole point of utilizing stumbleupon? dont they have their own built in process of monitoring the websites submitted anyway?
its all just to silly to me. and a waste of time. and all for inconsistent traffic?
btw, i stumble more then my own website, so how is submitting my own blog in between stumbles inappropriate? im not spamming.
No, you don’t have to submit the site on regular basis, give some break like 5-6 days between stumbles for the same site.
And if you keep submitting your site to StumbleUpon from the same id, then they might block you from adding same site to StumbleUpon again. I think the same thing happened with you.

Income boosted by 3x and subscribers count exploded to 60 from 0.
