Getting your Blog’s Lurkers to Comment in your blog

Do you have less or no participation of your readers in comments?
Well, then this tip can help you get some(or most) of those lazy readers to comment. 
I love getting more and more comments from other people. Getting more comments from my readers encourages me to do more posts on daily basis and it also helps to make my blog more active. This also creates a sense of participation in your readers, and they are likely to comment back to someone else’s comment(s).
Hey, What’s a lurker?
A Lurker is a person who reads discussions on a blog, forum or a chat room but does not actively takes part in them, by commenting rarely or no commenting.
How do i get my blog’s lurkers to comment?
It’s not such a hard nut to crack, getting your blog’s lurkers to comment. To increase participation you may ask them questions at the end of each post, like, asking them their views about the post, what they’d like to see on your blog, their suggestions, etc.
You might also want to start a post calling all the lurkers and asking them who they are, what they like, where they’re from, etc. I’ll be putting up a post calling all the lurkers soon.
Results
I have asked questions from my readers in most of the posts and in those posts I was able to get some of the lurkers to comment!(not all though).
So, if you are one of those bloggers who get less comments from their readers, you might want to give this tip a go on your blog and let us all know the results.

BTW, if you are one of those lurkers, you might not know about the benefits this blog can give you just for commenting. Like, “dofollow” attribute for your comments, placement in top commentators with “dofollow” attribute.
So, go forward and leave a comment.

I know what you mean about lurkers. In fact I used to do that but I quit because it didn’t seem like I had a readership but I will have start doing it again. Nice blog

By the way, looks like a glitch in your blog prevents my site from showing up in the commentators list. (For my earlier comments anyway).
Well, I guess I am a “lurker” but I just enjoy skimming around the blogs - a bit like reading a newspaper. I read things that interest me and enjoy clicking on the Entrecard ads to take me to places where I wouldn’t normally go - probably like this one. Having arrived here… I think this is a good site - well done.
I like commenting but skim through the article and comments quickly - i move on quick though - so erm - I’m not a lurker lol.
