Some Possible ways to improve Entrecard

Many people out there think that it’s not worth spending time in Entrecard and dropping cards on other blogs. The simple reason for this is due to high bounce rate because many people just come and drop their card and go away! They don’t even bother to take a look. Only 1 out of 4 people might be interested in your articles. Some bloggers are even classifying it as modern SPAM.
Entrecard does help new blogs up-to an extent and helps to get many new subscribers.
Some problems with Entrecard
- Bounce rate is too high, many people don’t even bother to read your articles. They just drop their card for the sake of earning points.
- New blogs are attacked at Entrecard by people who are always looking to advertise their blog just for sake of traffic.
- People don’t get clicks to their advertisement.
- Blogs are ranked by taking an average of the number of card drops in the last 5 days and multiplying it by 2. It is unfair for blogs with traffic.
- It is only limited to blogs.
Ways to Improve Entrecard
- Don’t keep it limited to blogs only. Allows sites to participate in it too. It might create SPAM though.
- Rank blogs according to mixed factors like number of clicks, page impressions, etc.
- Card drops should have less influence over blog rankings.
- The Entrecard community should also help.
Results
- People will be more interested in the Entrecard system. It might even attract big bloggers.
- Number of blogs will significantly increase.
- People will place their Entrecard widget in a noticeable area, like in JoeTech.com .
- People will less likely to drop their cards and run away. Bounce rate will decrease.
- And maybe, JohnCow will put up Entrecard widget again.
- People will get more clicks to the advertisement they placed on other blogs.

I think you’ve hit it all! Great tips and it’d be nice to not only see Entrecard implement some changes but the users as well. A lot of these problems are dependent on the users and they don’t seem to care. Shame really, it could be a better system but there are still great things about it.
And just the record… found you with Entrecard, leaving a comment and will be picking up feed. (Hence, I’m not here to drop and run.. :D)

I agree about letting websites use it, I’ve noticed people are signing up with sites and adding a blog to their site which is hardly ever used just to get in some traffic. At least if they let it be used on sites the entrecard would be on all the pages and we’d get more clicks from our ads.
